About Warren D.

Warren D. Postman came to law after studying psychology at Brandeis University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 2001. He went on to earn his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2007. Those academic stops set the stage for a career that has moved quickly into the appellate arena.

Early in his legal career Postman served as a law clerk to Judge William A. Fletcher on the U.S. Court of Appeals in 2007. He then spent a year clerking for Justice David H. Souter at the Supreme Court of the United States in 2008. After his clerkships he joined Jones Day as an associate in 2009, working in a large firm environment where he handled complex litigation and appellate matters for a range of clients.

In 2018 Postman took on an in-house role at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as vice president and chief counsel for appellate litigation. In that position he supervised appellate work and helped shape litigation strategy on behalf of the Chamber. Later that year he shifted back to private practice and became a partner at Keller Lenkner LLC. His career path shows repeated engagement with high-level appellate work, both inside government and in private practice.

Postman’s résumé is anchored by federal and Supreme Court experience. Clerkships at both the appellate and Supreme Court levels gave him firsthand exposure to appellate decisionmaking. His work at the Chamber expanded that exposure into organizational advocacy and case selection. At Jones Day he gained familiarity with the demands of major commercial and constitutional appeals. Those roles inform how he evaluates cases, prepares briefs and prepares clients for argument.

He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar. That membership reflects his licensure to practice in the District of Columbia and situates him in a jurisdiction where federal litigation and appellate work are constant. As a partner at Keller Lenkner LLC, he continues to handle appeals and related federal litigation matters.

Postman practices appellate litigation and related federal appeals matters at Keller Lenkner LLC.
