About Walter F.
Walter F. Benenati studied public administration at Florida International University, earning a B.S. in 2002. He went on to attend St. Thomas University School of Law, completing his J.D. in 2006. His education combined public-sector coursework and legal training, laying the groundwork for a practice that spans consumer bankruptcy and related litigation.
While still in law school Benenati worked as a law clerk at The Fair Credit Law Group in 2005. That early exposure to consumer credit matters informed his decision to open the Benenati Law Office in 2007. He established the firm shortly after completing his education and transitioning into full-time practice.
Benenati is admitted to practice in Florida and has gained permission to appear in several federal courts. His federal admissions include the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the Federal Circuit. Those credentials allow him to handle both state and federal matters for individual and small business clients.
His professional affiliations reflect an ongoing connection to bankruptcy and consumer law communities. He is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers and the National Association of Consumer Advocates, both since 2009 and 2008 respectively. Locally, he belongs to the Orange County, Osceola County and Central Florida bankruptcy bar organizations. He also holds membership in the Florida Justice Association and, since 2014, has served as president of his Windsong Homeowners Association, a position that requires attention to governance and dispute resolution among neighbors.
Peers and local directories have recognized Benenati’s practice; he appears on a regional list of top bankruptcy lawyers in Orlando compiled by Three Best Rated. He maintains a practice at Benenati Law Office, where he has handled a range of consumer bankruptcy filings, creditor-debtor disputes and related litigation since 2007.
Benenati’s career combines courtroom experience and local bar involvement. He handles cases in state courts and in the federal forums where he is admitted, representing clients in bankruptcy reorganizations, Chapter 7 filings and adversary proceedings. He also balances practice work with community leadership through his homeowners association role.
He continues to operate from the Benenati Law Office and focuses his practice on consumer bankruptcy and insolvency matters.
