About W. Wilhelm
W. Wilhelm Rabke built a foundation in economics and history before turning to law. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1996 with a B.A. in Managerial Economics and History, then earned a J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2008. His academic path combined business training and legal study, a pairing that has shaped his practice.
After law school Rabke began his legal career in private practice. He joined Williams Mullen as an associate in 2008, where he handled corporate and transactional matters for a range of clients. Those early years gave him experience on deal work, contract negotiations, and day-to-day counseling for businesses.
In 2014 he moved into an of counsel role at Graybill, Lansche & Vinzani, LLC. That position let him work on more complex transactions and broaden his advisory work. Colleagues from that period describe him as steady in negotiations and attentive to the business implications of legal choices.
In 2020 Rabke became a partner at Midtown GC. His career path reflects a steady progression from associate to of counsel to partnership. At Midtown GC he undertakes corporate and transactional assignments, including mergers and acquisitions and matters tied to private equity. He also advises companies on governance and commercial agreements, regularly interacting with in-house teams and executive leadership.
Outside the office Rabke is active in professional and community organizations. He serves on the American Bar Association’s M&A Committee and its Subcommittee on Private Equity M&A. He has been involved with the University of Richmond School of Law Young Graduates’ Council and maintains membership in both the Richmond Bar Association and the Virginia Bar Association. His community roles include service on the board and as secretary for RVA Works, participation on its advisory board, and involvement with Girl Power 2 Cure as a family advisory board member. He has longstanding ties to the Beta Theta Pi Alumni Association for Hampden-Sydney College, where he served as past president from 2000 to 2005.
Rabke’s background in managerial economics informs how he approaches transactional problems. He aims for clear analysis and practical solutions. He balances legal considerations with business realities and works to keep clients’ commercial objectives front and center.
He is based at Midtown GC and practices corporate and transactional law, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity matters, and corporate governance advice.
