About W. Scott

W. Scott Rose earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2000 after completing his undergraduate studies at Vanderbilt University in 1994. He moved quickly from law school into a federal courthouse, serving as a judicial law clerk to a chief judge of the United States District Court the same year he graduated. That clerkship provided an early, close view of federal procedure and courtroom work.

Before law school, Rose spent time on Capitol Hill. In 1995 he worked as a legislative correspondent for a United States Senator. That role exposed him to legislative process and constituent work, experience that later informed his approach to client communication and case strategy.

Rose launched his private practice, Rose Legal Services, in 2002. He has handled a range of matters since then, establishing a practice in Missouri where he is licensed to practice law. His time in private practice reflects both trial experience and client counseling across criminal matters.

His professional memberships include several organizations tied to criminal defense. He belongs to the National College for DUI Defense and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a member of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Jefferson County Bar Association. These affiliations keep him connected to developments in DUI and criminal defense practice and to other local and national practitioners.

Colleagues describe Rose as steady in court and direct in client meetings. He has tried cases in state and federal settings and appears routinely before judges in Missouri. His work often involves preparing for contested hearings and managing discovery, motions and trial strategy. He also handles negotiations and plea processes where appropriate.

Rose maintains offices in Sunset Hills and accepts appointments in O'Fallon. He serves clients across the state and meets with people in person when cases require it. His practice balances courtroom representation with the practical demands of managing client expectations and deadlines.

Across a career that began in the trenches of a federal clerkship and passed through legislative work, Rose has built a practice grounded in criminal defense and DUI matters. He practices criminal and DUI defense in Missouri.
