About W. Bradney

W. Bradney Griffin has built a legal career that stretches back more than five decades. He trained first as an engineer and later as a lawyer. Over the years he moved through firm partnerships and returned to solo practice, carrying a steady presence in both Vermont and New York.

Griffin’s academic path began at Duke University, where he studied engineering and completed coursework in 1965. He then shifted toward the liberal arts, earning a B.A. in English from Castleton State University in 1968. He completed his legal education at Washington & Lee University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1971. Those three institutions mark a progression from technical study to writing and then to law, a background that informed how he approaches problems and client matters.

His early professional years included an associate position at Corsones, Hansen & Griffin starting in 1974. Within a few years he moved into partnership. In 1977 he helped lead Griffin & Griffin, Ltd., and he later took a partner role in Wilkins & Griffin, PLLC beginning in 1999. Each step of that journey kept him in private practice and added responsibilities as a lawyer managing client work and firm business.

In 2015 Griffin returned to solo practice under the name W. Bradney Griffin, Esq. That move followed long experience in partnership and firm management. It also reflected a common pattern for lawyers who want to shape their own caseloads and client relationships late in their careers. Across his time in practice, he has handled matters in both New York and Vermont, maintaining a cross-jurisdictional practice that reflects the regional ties of his offices.

Colleagues and clients have known him for consistency rather than flash. He has worked in private practice for decades and has occupied a range of roles from associate to partner to solo practitioner. He continues to draw on his law school training and earlier studies as he advises and represents clients. He currently operates a solo practice, W. Bradney Griffin, Esq., serving clients in New York and Vermont.
