About Vilena

Vilena Ramini earned her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law–Camden in 2016 after completing a B.A. at the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2012. Her academic record placed her on a path into law at a time when immigration and federal issues were increasingly prominent on courtroom dockets and in administrative agencies.

After law school, Ramini built her practice at Modern Law Group, P.C., where she has handled matters that take her into both state and federal forums. She is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York. Those admissions allow her to represent clients in proceedings that range from administrative hearings to federal court litigation when necessary.

Her professional memberships reflect the scope of her work. She is a current member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association. These affiliations put her in regular contact with peers who handle policy questions, litigation strategy, and changes in practice across local and national lines.

Colleagues describe Ramini as methodical in her reading of statutes and regulations. She pays close attention to deadlines and procedural detail, and she prepares filings that aim to address both factual and legal hurdles. Her courtroom appearances and filings follow from careful case preparation rather than headline-seeking tactics.

Clients who work with Ramini generally encounter a practitioner who explains options in plain language. She breaks down complex immigration processes into steps that nonlawyers can understand. That habit of clarity can be particularly useful in immigration matters, where administrative procedures and shifting policy directives often create confusion.

At Modern Law Group, P.C., Ramini’s work frequently involves compiling documentary records, preparing applications and petitions, and arguing for favorable outcomes in administrative and judicial settings. She balances administrative advocacy with courtroom readiness, preparing cases for the realities of adversarial proceedings when cases advance beyond the agency level.

Outside of filings and hearings, Ramini stays involved in organized bar activities and continuing legal education. Those activities keep her current on case law and regulatory developments that affect day-to-day practice. She currently practices immigration law at Modern Law Group, P.C.
