About Victoria
Victoria Munson trained in Ohio. She earned an A.A. from the University of Akron in 2008, a B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo in 2012, then completed her J.D. at the University of Toledo College of Law in 2014. Those years set the foundation for a career centered on criminal justice in state and local courts.
Her early work put her inside public defense. In 2018 she joined the Stark County Public Defender's office as a staff lawyer. The role gave her steady courtroom time and regular client contact. She handled arraignments, pretrial motions and trial preparation for people facing a spectrum of state charges.
She moved to the prosecutor’s office in 2021, accepting a position as an assistant prosecutor with the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office. That shift placed her on the other side of the courtroom. It broadened her view of case development and courtroom strategy. Working for the county exposed her to charging decisions, plea negotiations and the mechanics of presenting cases to juries.
In 2022 she entered private practice as an associate at Melissa Graham-Hurd & Associates, LLC. The transition to a private firm followed several years of public service. At the firm she continued courtroom work while taking on the responsibilities common to a defense-focused practice, including client counseling, evidentiary review and motion practice.
Munson is licensed to practice in Ohio. Her background spans both defense and prosecution. That experience shapes how she evaluates cases today. She has worked for public defender and prosecutor offices, so she understands the pressures and timelines that govern different sides of a criminal case. She brings that practical understanding to case assessment and client conversations.
Colleagues describe her work as methodical and grounded in courtroom procedure. She has moved through public-sector roles into private practice in just a few years, a path that mirrors larger shifts many lawyers take as they balance courtroom experience with client-facing practice. She has continued to build on procedural skills and trial experience with each position.
She now practices at Melissa Graham-Hurd & Associates, LLC, handling criminal defense and related litigation in Ohio courts.
