About Veronica Chavez
Veronica Chavez Law earned her Juris Doctor at the University of Colorado Law School in 1995 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a business emphasis at the University of Colorado Boulder in 1992. She left law school into a practice shaped early by transactional real estate matters and public-sector consulting. The chronology of her training is straightforward and rooted in the Rocky Mountain region where she completed her studies.
Her first legal position came immediately after law school as a consultant in the Real Estate Department for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in 1995. That role introduced her to complex property and leasing issues tied to a major public infrastructure project. Two years later she joined Voyager Insurance Companies as a staff lawyer, where she handled matters that involved insurers and claim-related processes. In 2001 she moved into private practice as an associate at McDonald Sanders, P.C., gaining experience in firm-side litigation and transactional work.
In 2005 she became a lawyer and equity shareholder at Decker, Jones, McMackin, McClane, Hall & Bates, P.C., stepping into a senior role that included client management and courtroom responsibility. After nearly a decade in that capacity, she shifted to an in-house leadership post in 2013 as Executive Vice-President and General Counsel for Vehicle Administrative Services, LTD. In that corporate role she managed legal affairs, oversaw compliance matters and advised on contracts and business operations.
The next year brought a return to firm partnership. Since 2014 she has served as a lawyer, equity shareholder and director at Brackett & Ellis, P.C. That position blends leadership within the firm and direct client representation. Her professional associations include membership in the Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth since 2021 and participation in the Tarrant County Bar Association beginning in 2016. Those memberships reflect ongoing ties to the Fort Worth legal community and to practitioners who handle real property matters.
She is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Colorado. Her career tracks a steady progression from public-sector consulting and insurance work to private practice and in-house counsel responsibilities, and then to firm leadership. She currently practices at Brackett & Ellis, P.C., where her work centers on real estate matters, corporate counseling and litigation-related services.
