Vernon Louis Ellicott is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1994 and holds bar number 175334. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Ellicott is the principal attorney at the Law Offices of Vernon L. Ellicott, a firm located in Westlake Village, California. He has been practicing law for over 25 years, serving clients throughout California, from the Mexican border to Northern California.
Mr. Ellicott earned his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 1994. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at George Fox College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Additionally, he obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1979. During his time at Southwestern University School of Law, he was a member of the Trial Advocacy Team.
Mr. Ellicott concentrates his practice in the areas of family law, bankruptcy, and estate planning. Throughout his career, Mr. Ellicott has been admitted to practice before several courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. He is also admitted to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2019, he was admitted to the State Bar of Texas, expanding his practice to include clients in Texas. He has settled seven-figure sexual harassment and abuse cases against NBA, NFL, and Major League Baseball players, as well as well-known entertainers and artists, traveling across the United States for mediations and settlement conferences.
Mr. Ellicott is an active member of the California Lawyers Association and its Family Law Section. He is also a member of the Ventura County and Los Angeles County Bar Associations. In addition to his legal practice, he is a debt relief agency, assisting clients in filing for bankruptcy relief under the United States Bankruptcy Code.
