About Venar R.
Venar R. Ayar earned both his J.D. and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of San Diego, completing his law degree in 2005 and his advanced tax studies in 2007. He pursued the extra year of specialized study to deepen his understanding of federal tax law and tax procedure. Those years in San Diego shaped the contours of a practice that centers on tax matters.
After finishing his LL.M., Ayar opened the next chapter of his career in Michigan. He joined RJS Law in 2008, working as an associate attorney. That role gave him experience in a range of client matters and exposed him to the practical demands of representing taxpayers and small businesses in routine and complex matters.
In 2012 he became principal of Ayar Law Group, a tax law office based in Farmington Hills. As principal, he has overseen the firm’s operations and handled matters typical to a tax practice. His work has included advising clients on tax compliance, representing taxpayers before taxing authorities, and handling disputes that arise from audits and collection actions. He has guided individuals and business clients through assessments, installments, and negotiations aimed at resolving outstanding liabilities.
Ayar maintains active membership in several professional organizations. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He also belongs to groups focused on tax practice, including the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers and the National Association of Tax Professionals. He is a member of the Chaldean American Bar Association, where he participates in events and discussions relevant to attorneys of Chaldean heritage and the broader legal community.
Colleagues describe his approach as methodical and pragmatic. He tends to break complex tax issues into understandable parts for clients. He prepares tax positions and correspondence intended to advance a client’s standing while responding to the procedural requirements of tax agencies. He is admitted to practice in Michigan and works out of the firm’s Farmington Hills office. He continues to handle a broad array of tax-related matters for individuals and businesses. His current practice focuses on tax controversy, tax planning and related tax matters.
