About Vaughn
Vaughn Stewart earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011 and a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2014. He moved through a traditional academic path into the federal courts and later into private practice. His education laid a foundation for work that crosses courtroom procedure and public policy.
After law school, Stewart began his professional career as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee in 2014. That year in the federal courthouse gave him direct exposure to trial practice, case management and judicial decision-making. He joined WilmerHale LLP as an associate in 2015. At that large firm he worked on matters that refined his litigation skills and exposed him to complex client work in a firm setting.
Stewart also has experience in public service. In 2019 he served as a Delegate in the Maryland House of Delegates. That role added a legislative dimension to his legal background. It put him on the other side of rulemaking and provided an inside view of how law and policy intersect. After his time in elected office he returned to private practice and, in 2022, became an associate at Paré & Associates, LLC.
He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, holding active membership since 2015, and he is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia. His career spans a federal clerkship, time at a major national firm, a stint in state government, and work at a regional practice. The combination gives him practical experience across litigation and legislative settings. He currently practices at Paré & Associates, LLC in Washington, D.C., and his current practice focuses on representing clients in the District of Columbia, drawing on both his courtroom and legislative experience.
