About Tyler
Tyler Lauzon took an unconventional route into law. He studied Classics and Philosophy at Colby College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 2013. That background in critical reading and argument helped when he enrolled at the University of Maine School of Law and received his J.D. in 2018.
After law school, Lauzon moved into public-interest work. In 2018 he served as a staff lawyer at the Maine Community Law Center. There he worked on civil legal matters affecting Maine residents and gained firsthand experience representing clients who could not afford private counsel. The role sharpened his practical skills in client intake, case assessment, and courtroom advocacy.
Those early years shaped how Lauzon approaches cases. He pairs a humanities-trained attention to language with the procedural knowledge gained in practice. Colleagues from law school and the legal aid community describe him as methodical in his preparation and direct in court. He relies on careful analysis rather than broad rhetoric, and he is comfortable handling both papers and oral advocacy.
Lauzon formed his own practice and now operates under the name Lauzon Law, LLC. The firm is based in Maine and handles matters for individuals in the state. He draws on his experience at the community law center when advising clients, and he has maintained a practical, service-oriented approach to casework since leaving nonprofit practice.
Outside the courtroom, Lauzon’s liberal arts training remains part of his professional identity. He uses the interpretive tools from Classics and Philosophy on complex statutory texts and administrative rules. That background also informs how he explains legal issues to clients, translating technical points into clear, usable advice.
Clients and peers say Lauzon is steady in litigation and matter management. He treats procedural deadlines and factual development as central to outcome. Rather than relying on dramatic courtroom flourishes, he prefers disciplined preparation and close communication with those he represents.
As an attorney licensed in Maine, Lauzon continues to work in the state’s courts and administrative forums. He practices at Lauzon Law, LLC, serving clients across Maine.
