About Troy
Troy Jensen is an attorney whose academic record reflects interests in both law and economics. He completed his legal studies at the University of Houston Law Center, earning his J.D. in 2000 after an active term on the Houston Journal of International Law. During law school he served as Articles Editor and received the Judge James Baker Hughes Writing Award for his legal writing.
Before law school, Jensen studied economics at Weber State University, graduating in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science. He majored in economics and took a minor in Spanish. While at Weber State he was a recipient of the Harold and Grace Steed Business and Economics Scholarship.
After graduating from the University of Houston Law Center, Jensen entered the practice of law. His early work drew on the research and writing skills he developed in law school. The journal experience and the writing award point to an early emphasis on careful legal analysis and scholarly writing.
Over the years Jensen has combined his legal training with his undergraduate background in economics. That blend informs his approach to legal problems that include economic considerations. His Spanish studies supplement that foundation and enable him to communicate about legal issues across language lines when needed.
Colleagues and clients have noted Jensen’s methodical approach to case preparation and legal research. He tends to favor clear written advocacy and practical planning over flourish. His academic honors and editorial work suggest that he values precision in legal argument and clarity in drafting.
Today Jensen continues to practice law. His current practice draws on his international law journal experience, economic training, and Spanish-language study to address matters that lie at the intersection of those fields.
