About Troy J

Troy J Doucet built his legal foundation at Capital University Law School, where he enrolled in 2007 and earned his J.D. in 2010. While at law school he studied consumer law and litigation, and spent a semester in a student externship in 2009 at the Southern District of Ohio. That early exposure to federal court practice offered a practical counterpart to his classroom work.

After law school Doucet qualified to practice in multiple jurisdictions. He holds an Ohio law license issued by the Supreme Court of Ohio, and his admissions list includes the Sixth Circuit, the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio federal courts, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the state of Florida. Those admissions reflect a practice that spans trial courts and appellate work.

His professional network includes long-standing involvement in trial advocacy organizations. He has been a member of the Central Ohio Association for Justice since 2009 and has served on its board in the past. He also joined the Ohio Association for Justice in 2014 and remains active there. Those memberships place him among peers who handle plaintiff-side civil litigation and who take part in continuing legal education and local rulemaking conversations.

Doucet practices through Doucet Gerling Co., LPA. The firm name appears in filings and office listings under a couple of similar variants, and he is associated with its Ohio offices. At the firm he handles litigation matters that arise in both state and federal venues. His background in consumer and litigation topics informs how he approaches pleadings, discovery and courtroom strategy.

Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who moves comfortably between bench and bar. He has worked cases that require familiarity with federal procedure and appellate rules. He also maintains registrations that allow appearances in high-level federal forums, including the Supreme Court of the United States.

Outside of court papers and hearings, Doucet spends time on the professional activities that keep trial attorneys current. His organizational roles and court admissions have given him steady contact with civil practice trends in Ohio and beyond. He continues to accept cases through Doucet Gerling Co., LPA and concentrates his practice on litigation in the jurisdictions where he is admitted.
