Trish K. Murphy is the founder of Northwest Workplace Law PLLC, a Seattle-based firm specializing in workplace investigations, Title IX investigations, and labor and employment law services. With nearly three decades of experience, she has conducted over 300 impartial investigations involving allegations such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation. Employee misconduct for both public and private organizations, including higher education institutions. Ms. Murphy earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law in 1996, where she served as an editor for the Washington Law Review and received the Mary Ellen Krug Award for excellence in labor and employment law. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Washington, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1993. Admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1996, Ms. Murphy is also licensed to practice in Oregon and before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. She holds certifications as an Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder (AWI-CH) and as a Title IX/civil rights investigator. In addition to her legal practice, Ms.
Murphy has been an active member of several professional organizations. She served as President of the Northwest Association of Title IX Administrators from 2021 to 2022 and has been a contributing editor for the American Bar Association’s Bloomberg BNA labor law treatise, The Developing Labor Law, since 2015.
