About Trish
Trish Butcher built a career that moves between law, business and community work. She started her academic journey at the University of Georgia, earning a B.A. in 2010, and finished law school at Emory University in 2013. Those years framed her early professional choices and set the stage for a practice grounded in practical experience as well as legal training.
Her first professional role came before law school. In 2007 she worked as an insurance agent for Horace Mann Insurance Agency. That early exposure to insurance products and client service informed how she thinks about risk and client counseling later in her legal career. While at Emory, she took on a legal internship in 2011 with the Medical Association of Georgia. That placement gave her a front-row view of health care regulatory issues and association governance during a formative period of her legal education.
After earning her J.D., she joined the State Bar of Georgia and has maintained membership since 2013. The bar admission opened doors to private practice and in-house roles. In 2016 she launched Athens Fit Club, where she served as owner and trainer. The business venture shows a strand of entrepreneurship alongside her legal work. It also reflects an ongoing interest in community-level services and small-business operations.
Also in 2016 she took on the role of of counsel at Hamil Little. She brought to that position a mix of insurance knowledge, association experience and small-business perspective. At Hamil Little she operates as a senior advisor on matters that arise in Georgia, drawing on both transactional and regulatory insight. Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic: clear explanations, attention to detail and an emphasis on practical outcomes.
Her career does not read like a straight line. It bends between private-sector service, association work and small-business ownership. That variety has informed how she approaches client questions and casework. It also keeps her practice grounded in everyday business realities rather than abstract theory.
She remains based in Georgia and continues her membership in the State Bar of Georgia. She practices as of counsel at Hamil Little, handling client matters throughout Georgia and advising on legal issues that arise across the state.
