About Trevor J.
Trevor J. Rose took an uncommon academic path before entering the law. He earned two bachelor's degrees from the University of California, Berkeley in 2003, one in Spanish and one in Music. He spent a year at the Universitat de Barcelona in 2006 studying Spanish linguistics and literature. He returned to California and completed his J.D. at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco in 2011.
Early in his legal career Rose combined courtroom exposure with public service. He served as a judicial intern in Napa County Superior Court in 2009, worked as a law clerk for the Napa County Public Defender’s Office in 2010 and served as a certified legal intern in the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office that same year. After law school he took on post-bar internships at Legal Aid of Napa Valley and again at the Napa County Public Defender’s Office in 2011.
Rose moved into counsel roles soon after. In 2011 he served as general counsel for Diamond Sports & Entertainment, Inc. The following year he joined California Sports Management, Inc. as general counsel and became a Major League Baseball–certified player agent. He combined legal practice and sports representation into a set of roles that spanned contract negotiation, regulatory compliance and client advisement.
In 2013 he opened Rose Law Office of Napa Valley, Inc. He runs the firm as owner and manages a practice that reflects his varied background. His certification from the MLB Players Association remains part of the professional profile he offers to clients in the sports world. He has also advised businesses and nonprofit organizations on governance and transactional matters.
Community and professional involvement figure in Rose’s work. He has been a member of the Napa County Bar Association since 2013 and served as president of its Young Lawyer Division in 2014. He is vice president and general counsel of the Napa County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a role he has held since 2014. He is a lifetime member of Phi Beta Kappa, elected in 2007.
He practices from his Napa office and provides representation in business and sports-related matters, while offering general counsel services to local organizations.
