About Travis
Travis Mahugh earned his J.D. from the University of Oregon in 2013 and built his legal career in Washington state courts. He practices in both state and federal forums, and over the years he has developed experience in courtroom proceedings, motion practice and case management. Colleagues describe him as steady in litigation and attentive to procedural detail.
After law school Mahugh became active in the regional bar community. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and holds admission to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. He also participates in local bar organizations, including the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association and the King County Bar Association. Those memberships keep him connected to developments in court practice and to peers across multiple practice areas.
Mahugh is a partner at Gordon Thomas Honeywell. In that role he handles a mix of courtroom responsibilities and supervisory duties. He prepares pleadings, argues motions and manages discovery, while also overseeing younger attorneys on his team. The position has put him on cases that require coordination among clients, experts and opposing counsel, and it regularly calls for practical judgment under tight deadlines.
Outside the office he serves on the board of the Pierce County Library Foundation. That involvement reflects an interest in civic institutions and local cultural resources. He has combined volunteer work with professional participation in regional legal organizations, contributing time to events and panels that address day-to-day challenges faced by practitioners in Pierce and King counties.
In the courtroom Mahugh is methodical. He favors clear briefing and straightforward oral argument. Opposing counsel and judges alike note his preparedness and attention to the rules that govern litigation in Washington and in the federal district. He maintains contact with professional colleagues through bar committees and local bar meetings, which helps him stay current on procedure and case law.
He remains based in Washington and continues to practice at Gordon Thomas Honeywell, representing clients in state courts and in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. His current practice centers on litigation in Washington state and federal courts.
