About Tracy

Tracy Tiernan built her professional foundation in the mid-1980s. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Southern Methodist University in 1987. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1990. Those academic years set the rhythm for a long career practicing law in Oklahoma.

After law school, Tiernan moved into practice in Oklahoma. Public records list her as admitted to practice in Oklahoma and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Over the years she has appeared in matters that required work at both the state and federal levels. She has managed filings, argued motions and handled appeals in jurisdictions that cover Oklahoma and the surrounding region.

Colleagues describe her approach as straightforward. She favors clear legal writing and careful preparation. That style fits the kinds of matters that often reach the federal appellate courts: technical legal questions, procedural disputes and issues that require precise briefing. Her registration to the Tenth Circuit indicates experience handling the distinct rules and timelines of appellate practice.

Her career has spanned changes in the legal landscape. The courts and the bar shifted during the 1990s and into the 21st century, and Tiernan adapted her practice to meet new procedural demands and evolving case law. She has worked with clients, opposing counsel and court clerks to move cases through state trial dockets and into federal appellate procedures when necessary.

Outside courtroom appearances, Tiernan’s work has included detailed brief-writing and case strategy. Appellate work demands exacting standards on citation, record assembly and argument structure. Handling those tasks requires a steady routine and attention to detail, qualities that have marked her practice in filings before the Tenth Circuit.

Today she continues to practice in Oklahoma and remains authorized to appear before the Tenth Circuit. Her experience spans state and federal matters, and she maintains an active docket that involves both trial-level proceedings and appellate filings. Her current practice focuses on matters in Oklahoma and appeals before the Tenth Circuit.
