About Tonya

Tonya Hirsch began her academic journey at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton. Those two schools shaped her legal outlook — a Midwest foundation followed by professional training in Ohio.

Her early years after law school were spent building practical skills in client representation and courtroom work. She learned to translate legal doctrine into clear advice for people who were often facing complex, stressful decisions. Colleagues from that period remember her preference for plain talk over legalese and an insistence on preparing thoroughly for hearings and meetings.

Over time Hirsch expanded the range of matters she handled. She has experience counseling individuals and organizations, drafting agreements, and managing disputes through negotiation and litigation. Her caseload has included both transactional work and contested matters, which allowed her to move comfortably between drafting documents and arguing points in court. She balances attention to detail with the need to keep an eye on clients’ larger objectives.

Her professional style is straightforward. She favors clear explanation of options and likely outcomes, and she pays attention to scheduling and deadlines. That approach appeals to clients who want practical steps rather than abstract theory. In meetings she tends to outline next steps and explain the trade-offs in plain language. In hearings she presents the record efficiently and relies on preparation rather than rhetorical flourish.

Outside of case work, Hirsch has taken opportunities to mentor junior attorneys and staff. She has participated in routine firm training and in informal case review sessions. Those activities reflect a preference for hands-on guidance over formal lecturing. She also keeps current on changes in statutes and rules that affect everyday practice.

As of 2026 she continues to practice law and to serve clients on a range of civil matters. Her current practice concentrates on advising individual and business clients and representing them in transactional and litigation settings.
