About Tom

Tom Peppler built his legal foundation across two very different campuses. He studied philosophy at Belmont Abbey College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1970. That undergraduate background in critical thought preceded his decision to pursue law at Florida State University College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1978.

Peppler’s academic path combined the broad questions of philosophy with the technical training of a law degree. Those years shaped the habits he brought to practice: careful analysis, attention to statutory detail and a preference for plainspoken explanations. Colleagues and clients have described his approach as steady and pragmatic, favoring clear options over elaborate theory.

After completing his legal studies, he moved into the practice of law. Over subsequent decades he handled a varied docket that included courtroom appearances, client counseling and transaction-related work. He worked through the practical realities of running matters and managing client expectations. That practical experience informed how he balanced legal risk against real-world outcomes.

Peppler’s background in philosophy has had an influence on his work. It underlined an emphasis on logic and on laying out arguments that can be followed step by step. In writing and in court, he relied on structure and on anticipating counterarguments. Those habits kept his presentations direct and his files organized.

People who have worked with him note an uncomplicated style. He tends to avoid legalese where plain language will do. That clarity has been useful whether he was explaining options to a client or drafting pleadings. His presentations aim to make decisions easier for the people he represents.

Across a long career, Peppler adapted to changes in law practice. He witnessed shifts in technology, case law and client needs. He adjusted procedures, learned new systems and kept the core of his practice oriented around clear communication and reliable case preparation.

Today he remains active in law. He brings decades of experience to current matters and continues to apply the analytical habits formed in his undergraduate and law school years. He currently practices law.
