About Tom
Tom Kapstrom is an attorney who practices in Springfield, Missouri. He built a career that began in municipal law and moved into private practice and trial work. He has worked for city lawyer offices early in his career and later established his own firm in 2011.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from California State University, Bakersfield in 2000. He went on to attend Whittier Law School, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2003. Those years framed his transition from undergraduate studies into legal training and early courtroom exposure.
Kapstrom’s early legal work included positions in municipal law. In 2001 he worked at the Newport Beach City Lawyer’s Office and the following year at the Huntington Beach City Lawyer’s Office. After law school he joined the Law Offices of Richard O. Middlebrook in 2003. Those roles placed him in environments where local government law and client-facing responsibilities were routine.
He later joined Borton Petrini, LLP in 2007, where he continued to broaden his litigation experience. By 2011 he was involved with Absolute Legal Support. That same year he launched Kapstrom Law Office, which later operated as Springfield Injury Law. The move to establish a firm marked a shift toward handling personal injury matters and representing individuals in civil litigation.
Kapstrom is active in professional associations. He has been a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Lawyers since 2013 and belongs to the American Association for Justice and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, both since 2013. These memberships indicate regular engagement with trial practice and bar activities in the region.
Licensed to practice in Missouri, Kapstrom built a practice that reflects his background in city law and private litigation. He represents clients in personal injury and related civil matters and manages the day-to-day operations of Springfield Injury Law. He continues to handle cases for individuals seeking recovery after accidents and injuries.
