Todd M. Goebel earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1998 and then took his legal training to Southern Illinois University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2001. His undergraduate study in finance sits alongside his law degree. The combination gives him a practical understanding of business and financial concepts that inform his work in court and at the negotiating table.
He is admitted to the Illinois bar and holds admission to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. Those admissions allow him to represent clients in both state and federal trial courts across the region. He has handled proceedings in these venues on behalf of organizations and individuals, addressing disputes brought in courts of varying jurisdictional scope.
Goebel is a partner at Gates, Wise, Schlosser & Goebel. In that role he shares responsibility for case strategy, client counseling, and courtroom advocacy. He works alongside colleagues on matters that proceed through pleading, discovery, motion practice and trial. His position as partner reflects ongoing involvement in both the business side of running a practice and the day-to-day work of representing clients.
Outside the office he serves on the school board for Rochester Community School District #3A.
