About Todd

Todd Burnham earned his J.D. from Albany Law School in 2000 after beginning his legal studies in 1998. He finished law school at the turn of the century and entered a legal market that was shifting fast. The academic training he completed at Albany set the stage for a career that would cross state lines and include both public service and private practice.

Early in his career Burnham took a post in municipal government. In 2001 he served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel. That year in public service put him in the middle of routine municipal legal work and the kind of day‑to‑day problems cities and towns face. The experience gave him an early, practical grounding in government practice and the procedural demands of representing public entities.

Burnham is admitted to practice in both Colorado and New York. Those dual admissions mean he can appear in the courts of two distinct legal systems and advise clients on matters that touch both states. He has kept active memberships in professional organizations that reflect that bi‑state presence and a continued connection to local legal communities.

He joined the Colorado Bar Association and the Boulder Bar Association in 2010. He later added membership in the Boulder Interdisciplinary Council in 2012 and remains a member of all three organizations. His steady participation in these groups places him in local networks where lawyers, judges and community professionals exchange information and address practical issues affecting clients and civic institutions.

Geography has been a feature of Burnham’s practice. He maintains offices across Colorado: Cherry Creek, Colorado Springs, Greenwood Village, Boulder and Fort Collins. Those locations allow him to meet clients in a variety of settings and handle matters that arise in different parts of the state. The spread of offices also reflects a preference for being available where clients are, rather than expecting them to come to a single downtown address.

Colleagues and clients who have worked with him note a straightforward style and an emphasis on clear, practical advice. He has combined government work and private practice in ways that let him move between advising public bodies and representing private parties. That mix has informed how he approaches casework and client counseling.

As of 2026 Burnham continues to practice law in Colorado and New York, working from his multiple Colorado offices and maintaining professional ties through local and state bar associations. He currently focuses his practice on legal matters in both jurisdictions.
