About Todd

Todd Begg built his path to law in classrooms and courtrooms. He earned a B.A. in sociology and psychology from the University of Richmond in 1982 and went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1986. Those academic years shaped how he approaches client problems—methodical, attentive to human factors, and anchored in legal doctrine.

His early career saw him cut his teeth at two established Pennsylvania firms. He joined Reed Smith as an associate in 1994. That role exposed him to a range of litigation and counseling matters and helped him learn how to manage files and client expectations. In 1996 he moved to Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney as a senior associate, where he took on greater responsibility and began supervising more junior attorneys.

In 2001 he helped found Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC and became a shareholder there. That move marked a shift from employee to firm leader. As a founding partner he took part in shaping firm policies, mentoring younger lawyers, and directing case strategy. The firm has been his professional home for many years and it remains the center of his practice.

Beginnings in law school and early firm roles inform the kinds of matters he handles. He is active in family law circles and has maintained involvement in bar association work since the late 1980s. He joined both the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Family Law Section and the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Family Law Section in 1989 and continues to participate. Those memberships reflect sustained engagement with peers and developments in family law practice.

Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and deliberate in negotiations. He has handled contested hearings and settlement talks, preparing evidence, taking testimony, and arguing procedural and substantive points when necessary. His background in sociology and psychology appears in how he evaluates family dynamics and prepares clients for what to expect in court and in settlement processes.

Outside formal appearances, he spends time mentoring associates at his firm and contributing to case strategy sessions. He balances case work and firm responsibilities in a practice that is familiar to local judges and opposing counsel. He is licensed in Pennsylvania and maintains active membership in local and state family law sections.

He currently practices family law at Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC.
