About Tina K
Tina K Gehres began her legal pathway in business and labor studies. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lindenwood University in 1994, then continued at Saint Louis University School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 1997 after coursework in business law and employment and labor law. Those academic choices informed the early shape of her practice and the kinds of issues she would take on in the years that followed.
Her first noted in-house role came in 1998 as corporate counsel at MagneVu. That position gave her practical exposure to corporate operations and the legal questions that arise inside businesses. In 2003 she launched a solo practice, listed as Lawyer & Counselor, where she worked directly with clients on employment and business-related matters. In 2014 she incorporated those years of practice into Gehres Law Group, P.C., where she serves as President and CEO.
Over time Gehres built experience in employment and labor law and added alternative dispute resolution to her skill set. She is the recipient of an Award for Excellence in Labor and Employment Law from the American Bar Association. She also completed advanced mediation training through the National Conflict Resolution Center. Those credentials underpin much of her work on workplace disputes and negotiated resolutions.
Gehres holds memberships in several professional and community organizations. She has been on the board of the AOBT Foundation since 2015 and joined the American Bar Association in 2014. She is a member of the Bar Association of San Diego County and has served as a mentor for the Clairemont High School Academy of Business since 2013. Since 2008 she has contributed as an expert on JustAnswer.com. Earlier in her life she volunteered with ALIVE, assisting abused women between 1988 and 1992.
Licensed to practice in Michigan and California, she combines litigation and counseling roles depending on the client’s needs. Gehres operates from offices under the Gehres Law Group, P.C. umbrella, including a main office and an Irvine office. Her practice has handled both employer-side and individual employee matters, and she uses mediation training when resolving disputes to pursue settlement where appropriate.
She continues to lead Gehres Law Group, P.C., handling employment and labor law matters, mediation, and related corporate counsel work.
