About Tina
Tina Floridia built her academic foundation in Houston. She earned a B.A. in Communications and then an M.S. in Education from the University of Houston. She completed her legal studies at South Texas College of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2015.
Her time in law school included practical positions that exposed her to appellate and federal practice. In 2013 she worked as a law clerk for the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas. The following year she served as a judicial intern for the Fourteenth Court of Appeals, gaining firsthand experience of the appellate process.
Those early roles followed an even earlier start in legal support. In 2008 she worked as a legal assistant at the Law Offices of MH Azad. That position introduced her to client intake, case preparation and the day-to-day demands of legal work. The combination of support work and clerking roles shaped how she approaches legal problems as a lawyer.
After earning her J.D., Floridia took on a contract lawyer role in 2015 at The Cartwright Law Office. In 2016 she joined the Skillern Firm as a lawyer. Records list offices associated with Skillern Law Office and Skillern Firm in subsequent years. She is licensed to practice in Texas and has continued her career in that jurisdiction.
Colleagues describe her work as methodical. She spends time on research and on preparing filings. Her background in education also informs how she explains legal issues to clients and to colleagues. The variety of positions she has held — from legal assistant to federal law clerk to practicing lawyer — gives a practical perspective on case strategy and courtroom procedure.
Across civil paperwork, courtroom deadlines and client meetings, she applies the procedural knowledge learned during her clerkships. She has handled client matters in both office and court settings. Her career path shows steady movement from support roles into positions of legal responsibility.
She continues to work at the Skillern Firm, practicing in Texas. Her current practice concentrates on representing clients through litigation and transactional work for matters arising in the state.
