Timothy John Richardson is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1995. His license is currently in active status. He has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout the San Diego area.
Mr. Richardson earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, graduating cum laude in 1995. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at San Diego State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1989. During his time at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, he was recognized for his academic achievements and graduated with honors.
Mr. Richardson concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal law, DUI & DWI defense, and family law. He represents individuals in matters involving criminal appeals, drug crimes, expungement, fraud, gun crimes, internet crimes, sex crimes, theft, and violent crimes. In family law, he handles cases related to adoption, child custody, child support, father's rights, guardianship and conservatorship, paternity, prenuptial and marital agreements, restraining orders, and same-sex family law. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Richardson has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Diego and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at Grimes & Warwick from 1995 to 1996. He has been recognized for his trial advocacy skills and was the recipient of the San Diego Consumer Attorneys’ Award for Outstanding Trial Lawyer.
Mr. Richardson is an active member of the San Diego County Bar Association, where he served as Chairman of the Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) in 2006 and as Vice President of the Board of Directors from 2008 to 2010. He is also a member of the California State Bar Association. Mr. Richardson is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of San Diego effectively.
