Timothy J. Cuddigan is a retired attorney who dedicated his career to practicing law in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1975, he was admitted to the Nebraska State Bar, starting a distinguished legal career. That same year, he also gained admission to the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska, expanding his ability to represent clients in federal matters. His commitment to legal excellence led him to be admitted to the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in 1977, followed by his admission to the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans' Claims in 1996. Cuddigan earned his Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in 1974, a prestigious institution known for its rigorous legal education. Prior to his law degree, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History from Creighton University in 1971. This strong educational background laid the foundation for his future endeavors in law. In 1994, he founded Cuddigan Law, P.C., L.L.O., with a specific focus on Social Security and Veterans Affairs disability cases.
This specialization allowed him to make significant contributions to the field of disability law. Throughout his career, Cuddigan was recognized for his expertise and dedication. He served as president of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives, an influential organization that advocates for disability attorneys and their clients. His leadership in this role underscored his commitment to improving the legal field for those seeking disability benefits. Additionally, he was an active member of the Nebraska State Bar Association, further demonstrating his involvement in the legal community. In 2005, Cuddigan's son, Sean D — Cuddigan, joined the firm, bringing a new generation of legal expertise to the practice.
By 2008, Sean became the managing attorney, continuing the family legacy in representing clients in Social Security and Veterans Affairs disability cases. This transition ensured that the firm maintained its focus on providing high-quality legal services to those in need. Cuddigan retired at the end of 2023 but remains engaged with the firm by providing strategic support, mentoring, and advice. His experience and knowledge continue to benefit both the firm and its clients.
