About Timothy C.
Timothy C. Nies earned his law degree from Shepard Broad Law Center at Nova Southeastern University in 1998. He completed his legal education at a time when the Florida courts were handling a growing number of complex civil and maritime disputes. The diploma marked the start of a career rooted in Florida practice and shaped by several professional memberships that reflect his interests.
Early in his career Nies moved into work that intersected civil litigation and marine matters. He is active in organizations that handle trial advocacy and maritime law. Those connections give a sense of the professional communities he engages with and the types of cases that have informed his practice over the years.
Since 2008 he has been a member of the American Association for Justice, the Florida Justice Association and the Maritime Law Association of the United States. Those memberships place him in circles that regularly address personal injury, plaintiff-side litigation and issues arising from incidents at sea. He has also been involved with Disabled American Veterans since 1998, listed as a supporter and member. That long-standing relationship indicates an ongoing interest in veterans’ issues alongside his legal work.
Nies maintains a presence across South Florida. He works out of offices in Delray Beach, Stuart, West Palm Beach and Boca Raton. The multiple locations allow him to meet clients in different communities along the Treasure Coast and the Gold Coast. Colleagues and clients see him in courtrooms and in local hearings rather than confined to a single downtown office.
His courtroom activity and association memberships suggest regular involvement in contested matters that require trial readiness and an understanding of maritime law. He participates in professional gatherings through the Maritime Law Association and state and national trial organizations. That participation keeps him current on evolving statutes and procedural developments brought up in civil and admiralty courts.
Outside of strictly legal settings, his support for Disabled American Veterans reflects an interest in veteran welfare and community service. He has maintained that connection since shortly after completing law school. It is one thread among several that runs through his professional life.
Today Nies continues to practice in Florida, working from offices in Delray Beach, Stuart, West Palm Beach and Boca Raton and handling matters in civil litigation and maritime law.
