Tiega N. Varlack is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 2006. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Varlack is the owner and managing attorney of Varlack Legal Services, a law firm located in Hayward, California. She has been practicing law for over 19 years, serving clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Ms. Varlack earned her Juris Doctor degree from Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C., graduating in 2006. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Howard University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Government and Political Behavior in 2003. During her time at Howard Law, she was a student member of the D.C. Bar and participated in the D.C. Law Students in Court program, serving indigent clients.
Ms. Varlack concentrates her practice in the areas of civil litigation, personal injury, business law, civil rights, consumer law, and criminal defense. She represents individuals and businesses in matters involving workplace discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, premises liability claims, and various other civil disputes. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Varlack has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Alameda, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as an associate attorney at Bingham McCutchen LLP in San Francisco from 2006 to 2008, where she was a member of the firm's Intellectual Property group.
Ms. Varlack is an active member of several professional organizations, including the California State Bar, the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association, the Charles Houston Bar Association, the Alameda County Bar Association, the National Bar Association, and the California Association of Black Lawyers. She has served on the Charles Houston Bar Association's Board of Directors as membership chair. Ms. Varlack is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of the San Francisco Bay Area effectively.
