About Thomas W
Thomas W Porter built his legal credentials with steady progress through formal education and practical courtroom exposure. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami in 2006, studying motion pictures and American studies. He then completed his Juris Doctor at Southwestern Law School, conferred in 2009.
Early in his legal career Porter gained experience inside the federal judiciary. In 2009 he served as a judicial extern at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. That placement gave him a close look at appellate procedure and the internal workings of federal opinion drafting. It was an early test of legal research and writing under tight deadlines.
After law school Porter moved into private practice. In 2010 he joined Wesierski & Zurek, LLP as a lawyer. His time there involved traditional firm responsibilities: client interviews, drafting pleadings, and courtroom appearances. He spent several years learning the routines of litigation and case management in a firm setting.
In 2015 Porter founded Exponential Law, APC. He started the firm to create a practice shaped by his experience in both the judiciary and private firms. As founder and principal lawyer he has overseen the firm’s operations and handled client matters personally. Running a small firm has required him to balance client-facing work with administrative tasks and business development.
Colleagues describe Porter as pragmatic in approach. He has worked across different types of legal matters and applied the procedural knowledge he gained early in his career to client representation. His background in appellate externship and subsequent firm practice informed how he frames legal arguments and prepares cases for trial or settlement discussions.
Porter is licensed to practice in California. He maintains professional association memberships and participates in the local legal community. Those connections support his practice and provide ongoing opportunities for professional exchange and development.
He currently practices at Exponential Law, APC, where his work centers on representing clients and managing the full lifecycle of their legal matters.
