About Thomas W.
Thomas W. Kyle built a career that moves from construction management studies to the courtroom. He combines technical training and trial practice in ways that shape how he prepares cases. The path is practical and steady, marked by long stints at several Midwestern firms and a string of trial-oriented credentials.
Kyle completed undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, earning a B.A. in Construction Management in 1985. He later attended Mitchell Hamline School of Law and received his J.D. in 1996, having pursued litigation coursework during his time there. Those two degrees framed a practice that often brings together construction knowledge and courtroom technique.
He began his legal career at Cannon & Dunphy in 1996. Three years later he helped found Pitman, Kyle, Sicula & Dentice, S.C., taking on the responsibilities of a founding partner from 1999 onward. In 2015 he moved to Hupy and Abraham, S.C. as a senior trial lawyer. More recently he took on an in-house leadership role and in 2020 became Chief Legal Officer at Groth Law Office S.C. The résumé traces steady movement into larger trial dockets and leadership positions over three decades.
Kyle is admitted to practice in Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa. He also holds a range of professional credentials that reflect an emphasis on trial work. These include graduation from the National College of Advocacy and the Trial Lawyers College, an AV peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, fellowship in the Melvin Belli Society, recognition by the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and diplomat status with the American Association for Justice. He has been listed by organizations such as The National Trial Lawyers and Elite Lawyers of America.
Outside the courtroom he has an uncommon credential for a lawyer: he is a certified actor with the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. That training shows in courtroom presence and in how he constructs witness examinations. He is also a Master Advocate through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, a designation that points to ongoing practice training rather than a single achievement.
Over time his work has emphasized trial preparation, courtroom advocacy and cases involving technical, construction-related issues. He currently practices at Groth Law Office S.C., handling civil litigation and trial work.
