About Thomas W.
Thomas W. Croessmann earned his J.D. from Regent University School of Law in 2014 after completing a B.S. at James Madison University in 2011. He moved into the practice of law soon after law school and built a regional practice across the mid-Atlantic. His academic background provided a foundation for both transactional work and courtroom matters.
He is licensed to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia. He maintains current membership in the Virginia State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar. Those admissions allow him to serve clients across multiple state and federal forums in the region.
Early in his career he combined legal work with professional licensing in related fields. He holds a Virginia Public Notary commission issued by the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth and a Maryland Real Estate Broker license from the Maryland Real Estate Commission. Those credentials have informed much of his transactional practice and his work on real estate closings and related regulatory issues.
Croessmann advanced to a leadership role at his firm and now serves as managing partner of Croessmann & Westberg. In that position he divides his time between overseeing firm operations, advising clients and handling substantive legal matters. Partners and staff report to him on case strategy, client intake and business development efforts.
Throughout his practice he has handled a mixture of transactions and disputes that touch on property law, contracts and civil litigation. He represents individuals and businesses on matters that arise in the three jurisdictions where he is admitted. His dual background as a licensed real estate broker and as an attorney allows him to address both the legal and practical sides of property transactions.
He continues to practice at Croessmann & Westberg, working on real estate transactions, notarial services and civil matters across Maryland, the District of Columbia and Virginia.
