About Thomas

Thomas Pettinicchi earned a B.A. in economics from Providence College in 1983 and went on to receive his J.D. from Western New England School of Law in 1986. He trained in New England classrooms and entered the Connecticut legal community at a time when courts were dealing with shifting tort and commercial law questions. Those early years shaped the practical sensibilities he brings to cases today.

After law school, Pettinicchi built a practice rooted in courtroom work and case preparation. He is admitted in Connecticut and holds admissions to the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Connecticut. Memberships in the American Association for Justice and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association align him with attorneys who regularly handle contested matters and jury trials. He also belongs to the American Bar Association and local organizations including the Waterbury and Litchfield bar associations.

Pettinicchi's career has unfolded in Connecticut’s varied legal environments. He has worked in matters that require appearances in both state and federal forums. Colleagues describe him as steady in court and thorough in discovery. He has taken depositions, argued motions and gone before juries. Those activities make up the bulk of a litigation practice.

Over time Pettinicchi made space for both trial work and the procedural demands that precede it. He handles case intake, drafts pleadings, and manages the evidence that will be presented to judges and juries. He has navigated bankruptcy proceedings when cases overlap with insolvency issues and has appeared in federal district court when matters require a broader jurisdictional reach.

Outside the courtroom he participates in bar activities and continuing legal education. His memberships in regional and national bars keep him engaged with evolving rules and decisions. Locally, he is connected to the Waterbury and Litchfield bar communities where many of his matters are litigated.

He practices at D’Amico & Pettinicchi, LLC, where he is part of a firm that handles civil litigation in Connecticut. He maintains active memberships in several professional organizations and is admitted to state and federal courts in Connecticut. He currently practices litigation in Connecticut state and federal courts.
