About Thomas

Thomas Pavlinic has spent more than four decades practicing law in Maryland. He built a career that moves between private practice and leadership roles, and he has kept a steady presence in the local legal community since the 1970s.

He trained first as a scientist, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1969. He then turned to law and received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in 1973. That combination of scientific and legal training shaped his early approach to casework and analysis.

Soon after completing his education, Pavlinic launched his own practice. In 1975 he opened the Law Offices of Thomas A. Pavlinic as a lawyer-owner. Over the years that followed he handled a broad range of matters for individual and business clients, running a small firm and managing the practical demands of client service, case preparation and courtroom appearances.

In 2009 he accepted a role as Lead Counsel at Premier Defense Group. In that position he took on supervisory responsibilities and handled higher-profile matters for the firm. His title reflected a shift from solo practice toward a more structured team environment, where he coordinated strategy and worked alongside other attorneys and staff.

Pavlinic’s work has been centered in Maryland throughout his career. He has experience in trial work and courtroom procedure, gained both as a solo practitioner and as lead counsel. Colleagues and clients have noted his steady courtroom manner and his methodical preparation, qualities that come from long practice rather than from any single case or headline.

Outside of litigation he has managed the administrative side of running a practice, from client intake to case management. Those responsibilities informed his later role supervising cases at Premier Defense Group, where administrative oversight is often part of the lead counsel job.

Across the decades his career shows continuity: academic grounding in science and law, early entrepreneurship in private practice, and later work inside a larger defense-oriented firm. He continues to work in Maryland and remains active in casework. He currently concentrates his practice through Premier Defense Group, handling matters for clients in the state of Maryland.
