About Thomas J.

Thomas J. Chapman earned his J.D. from the University of Florida in 2009. He completed his legal studies after an undergraduate period that concluded in 2006. The law school years shaped the practical side of his training and prepared him for dual-state practice that followed.

After law school Chapman gained admission to practice in both Florida and Illinois. He moved into client-side civil litigation, working on cases that required both courtroom work and negotiated settlements. Early in his career he handled intake, built case files and learned to translate medical records and accident reports into legal claims.

Chapman later joined NextGen Injury Law, where he has spent several years representing clients in personal injury matters. At the firm he handles claims from the initial consultation through resolution. That includes filing lawsuits when necessary, conducting discovery, and preparing cases for trial. He spends time reviewing medical records, consulting with treating physicians and coordinating with retained experts when their input is needed.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and direct in client conversations. He places emphasis on documenting losses and making sure clients understand the legal steps he proposes. In court he presents evidence and witnesses, and he also handles settlement negotiations intended to resolve cases before trial. His work spans common personal injury issues that arise after motor vehicle collisions, slip-and-fall incidents and other accidents that result in injury.

Chapman splits his practice activity between matters in Illinois and Florida, taking cases that require familiarity with state-specific procedural rules and damages frameworks. He continues to update his knowledge of evolving case law in both jurisdictions and uses that knowledge to advise clients about the practical risks and likely paths of their cases.

Outside of casework he maintains professional connections in the legal community and participates in firm-level planning and client intake systems. He balances trial preparation with efforts to reach timely resolutions when that serves a client’s interests. He now practices personal injury law at NextGen Injury Law.
