About Terry
Terry Goodspeed studied social studies at Ball State University before turning to law. He earned his J.D. from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2004. Those two degrees set a clear path: grounding in social systems followed by professional legal training. The combination shows in how he approaches cases and client conversations.
Goodspeed practices across both Kentucky and Indiana. He is listed as working out of Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers. Over the years he has joined a number of professional groups that reflect a practice tied to the region’s legal community. He keeps a foothold in local bar life while handling matters that require knowledge of two state systems.
He holds memberships in multiple bar and civic organizations. He has been a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Louisville Bar Association since 2009. He joined the Indiana Bar Association in 2010. He also belongs to the Kentucky Justice Association. Outside of bar work, he mentors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana, an involvement he continues alongside his legal duties.
Colleagues and opposing counsel describe him as practical and direct in the courtroom and in negotiations. He has taken cases through both pretrial and litigated stages. That experience comes from practicing in jurisdictions that can require quick judgment and careful preparation. Goodspeed’s background in social studies and his law school training inform how he organizes factual narratives and presents them in front of judges and juries.
He balances case work with community engagement. Mentoring young people through Big Brothers Big Sisters remains a steady part of his calendar. Membership in state and local bar groups keeps him connected to changes in law and procedure across Kentucky and Indiana. Those involvements also provide routes for continuing legal education and peer contact.
At present he is part of Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers and represents clients in matters that arise in Kentucky and Indiana. He continues to practice in those jurisdictions and maintains active involvement in local legal and civic organizations, focusing his current practice on injury matters across both states.
