About Ted R.

Ted R. Osburn made a deliberate turn early in his career. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Central Missouri in 1982. Three years later he completed a J.D. at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law and began practicing law in the Midwest.

Those two degrees frame much of his professional life. An engineering background gave him a technical lens. Law school added procedural training and courtroom practice. The combination can shape how he approaches disputes that touch on technical subjects and regulated industries, and it has informed the choices he has made about where to practice and what courts to appear in.

Osburn is a member of both the Missouri State Bar and the Arkansas State Bar. He is admitted to practice in Missouri and Arkansas and holds admission to the U.S. District Court for the Western and Eastern Districts of Missouri. Those credentials have allowed him to handle matters in state and federal forums across the region. He has been associated with the firm Osburn, Hine & Yates, LLC, where he has worked alongside colleagues handling litigation and counseling.

His work draws on the procedural demands of litigation and the detailed analysis often required in cases that involve technical subject matter. He has represented clients in filings that proceed through state courts and into federal district courts. That practical experience has kept him involved in the day-to-day mechanics of case development, depositions, motion practice and courtroom hearings. Professional membership in two state bars has also kept him connected to changing rules and local practice norms in both Missouri and Arkansas.

Colleagues and clients describe him as methodical in preparing filings and steady under pressure. He balances an engineer’s attention to detail with the procedural instincts lawyers develop over time. Over a career that began in the mid-1980s, he has maintained a steady practice in the Midwest and appeared regularly in the courts where he is admitted.

As of 2026 he practices at Osburn, Hine & Yates, LLC and remains admitted in Missouri, Arkansas and the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Missouri. His current practice concentrates on litigation handled in those state and federal courts.
