About Taylor
Taylor Shipman pursued graduate studies at Texas Woman's University, earning an M.A. She earlier completed her undergraduate work at Texas Tech University, finishing in 2007. Those years set the stage for a career based in Texas courts and legal communities.
After finishing school, Shipman moved into legal practice in Texas. Her professional life has been shaped by involvement in local and statewide organizations. She is a member of Texas Trial Lawyers and the Houston Young Lawyers Association. Those memberships have kept her engaged with trial practice discussions and with peers in the Houston legal scene.
Shipman’s work blends courtroom experience and client counseling. She handles matters that require steady courtroom presence and careful preparation. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical: she prepares cases step by step and expects the same from opposing counsel. She has spent time developing litigation skills and learning how local judges and courts operate.
In Houston and across Texas, Shipman has balanced casework and bar activity. Her participation in the Houston Young Lawyers Association has involved networking and professional programming aimed at newer members of the bar. Through Texas Trial Lawyers she has stayed connected to issues facing plaintiff trial attorneys and the procedural developments that affect trial practice in state courts.
At the office, Shipman is known for practical problem solving. She breaks complex legal questions into manageable parts and focuses on next steps that move cases forward. That practical orientation shows in how she prepares filings and in courtroom pacing—she prioritizes clear presentations over theatrical motions.
She now practices at Lapeze & Johns, PLLC. Her day-to-day work is carried out in Texas courts and in consultation with clients based in the state, and she continues to take part in local bar activities that reflect her trial work and professional interests.
