About Taryn Rae
Taryn R. Zimmerman is a partner at DeTommaso Law Group, LLC, located at 58 Mount Bethel Road, Suite 303, Warren, NJ 07059. Licensed to practice law in New Jersey since 2005, Taryn has dedicated her career to family and matrimonial law. Her practice encompasses many issues, including divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and domestic violence matters. Taryn’s expertise in these areas allows her to provide comprehensive legal support to her clients during difficult periods. In 2004, Taryn earned her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law.
Balancing her studies as an evening student, she simultaneously worked full-time in the financial services industry. Her roles included positions in the Office of General Counsel at UBS Financial Services and Credit Suisse. This unique combination of legal education and financial experience gave her valuable insights into the financial complexities often involved in family law cases. Before joining DeTommaso Law Group in 2015, Taryn completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Arthur Bergman in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division – Family Part. During her clerkship, she worked in family law matters and contributed to community initiatives, such as planning the Middlesex Vicinage Aging-Out Youth Training. This program aimed to provide essential information to teens transitioning from DYFS care to independent living, showcasing Taryn's commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.
In addition to her work in matrimonial law, Taryn has served as a court-appointed Special Master and guardian ad litem. Her volunteer efforts as an Early Settlement Panelist in Somerset County demonstrate her dedication to facilitating amicable resolutions in family disputes. Furthermore, she has provided legal counsel to SAFE in Hunterdon County, assisting victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Taryn’s commitment to advocacy extends beyond her practice, reflecting her focus on justice and community service. Taryn is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney. She is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association's Family Law Section and the Somerset County Bar Association.
