About Tara

Tara Gilder trained for law at Loyola University New Orleans, where she earned her law degree. She moved from the classroom to the courtroom in Louisiana. The city and its courts have been the backdrop for her legal work ever since.

Her education at Loyola provided a foundation in both procedural and substantive law. That foundation helped her navigate early casework and build practical skills. She translated what she learned in law school into daily practice, taking on matters in state courts and learning to manage the many pressures of client representation.

Gilder maintains professional ties beyond her firm. She is a current member of the American Bar Association and the Louisiana Association for Justice. Participation in those groups has kept her plugged into continuing legal education and peer networks. She has used those connections to stay current on developments in Louisiana law and national legal trends.

Over the years she moved into private practice under the name Gilder Law. At the firm she has handled a variety of matters brought in Louisiana courts. Colleagues describe her as methodical in case preparation and attentive to client needs. Her approach favors clear communication and steady case management. She aims to set realistic expectations for clients while following through on the work required to move a case forward.

Gilder’s filings and appearances reflect practical courtroom experience. She has drafted pleadings, managed discovery, and appeared in hearings at different levels of the state system. She balances trial preparation with the negotiations and procedural work that frequently determine outcomes. Her professional memberships have complemented that hands-on practice.

Outside of hearings and filings, she has taken on the administrative tasks of running a small firm. That has included supervising staff, coordinating outside experts, and managing client intake. These responsibilities have given her a broader view of how legal services are delivered and how a practice is organized.

She currently practices at Gilder Law in Louisiana. Her work there focuses on representing clients in Louisiana courts and handling the litigation tasks that arise in state practice.
