About Tanvir A.
Tanvir A. Anis earned a B.A. from Yale University in 2003, where he studied sociology and political science. He went on to Tulane University School of Law and received his J.D. in 2008. While at Tulane he engaged in trial advocacy work in 2005, an early signal of an interest in courtroom practice.
He moved into public service soon after law school. In 2008 he served as a deputy at the Orange County District Lawyer’s Office. The following year he took a deputy position with the Los Angeles Deputy District Lawyer’s Office. Those early roles placed him regularly in court and exposed him to the rhythms of case preparation and courtroom procedure.
In 2016 he shifted into private practice when he joined The Law Offices of Ty Anis. That move followed several years of prosecutorial work and courtroom experience. In private practice he continued to handle matters that required litigation skills, and he developed a practice life that mixed client counseling with contested hearings.
His background includes an academic grounding in trial advocacy and hands-on courtroom work from the start of his career. That combination shaped how he approaches cases: methodical preparation paired with attention to the dynamics of trial. Colleagues and court calendars have placed him on a range of matters that involve contested proceedings, and he has continued to refine his courtroom technique since leaving public office.
He is licensed to practice in California and has built a practice that draws on both public and private sector experience. His work reflects years spent in California courtrooms, first as a deputy at district lawyer offices and later in private firm settings. He now operates his own practice in California at The Law Offices of Ty Anis and handles litigation in state courts.
