About Tameka Andrea
Tameka Andrea West is an employment law attorney based in Ellenwood, Georgia. She has been practicing law for over 25 years, focusing on labor and employment matters. Ms. West is the President and CEO of The West Legal Group, P.C., a boutique law firm that represents clients against private employers, corporations, governmental agencies. Public sector entities in various employment-related actions, including discrimination, hostile work environment, sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, labor disputes, grievances, and appeals. Ms. West earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2000.
Prior to that, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clark Atlanta University in 1997. During her time at Clark Atlanta University, she was actively involved in the Pre-Alumni Association and served as an Orientation Guide. In her early career, Ms. West served as a Litigation Attorney for the Federal Labor Relations Authority from 2000 to 2002. In this role, she investigated and litigated unfair labor practice cases against federal governmental entities, prepared comprehensive memoranda on findings of investigation, and prosecuted complaint cases, including preparation of pleadings and post-hearing briefs. She also served as a Hearing Officer in Election Disputes and negotiated and prepared settlement agreements. Additionally, she was recognized as the Regional Employee of the Year in September 2001.
Ms. West is a Certified Mediator in Workplace Disputes, a credential she obtained from the Justice Center of Atlanta. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. She serves as the Chair of the Judicial Review Committee, the American Bar Association, and the National Employment Lawyers Association. She has been a member of the Georgia State Bar since 2000 and is in good standing. In 2026, Ms. West was elected as the President-Elect of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, reflecting her leadership and commitment to the legal community.
