About Tamarae Cooney
Tamarae Cooney Leong built her legal foundation at Gonzaga University. She earned a B.A. in Marketing and Communications in 2009 and continued at Gonzaga University School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2013. Those years in Spokane shaped both her legal training and her ties to the local bar.
She joined Cooney Law Offices, P.S. as a legal intern in 2011 while still in law school. After graduation she moved into an associate role at the same firm in 2013. That steady progression kept her working alongside experienced lawyers and brought her into regular courtroom and office practice early in her career.
In 2016 she took on the title of managing officer and lawyer at Cooney Law Offices, P.S. The role expanded her responsibilities beyond individual files. She handles casework and also oversees firm operations and client intake. She is a Certified Notary Public through the Washington State Department of Licensing, which complements routine transactional and document matters handled by the office.
Her professional memberships include the Spokane County Bar Association, where she has been a member since 2013. That affiliation ties her to local practice networks and continuing legal education opportunities. She remains active in the Spokane legal community and continues to work with peers across the county bar.
Colleagues describe her as steady and practical in the courtroom and in client meetings. She has accumulated hands-on experience in a small-firm environment, moving from intern to associate to managing officer in a relatively short span. That path gave her regular exposure to case development, client counseling and the administrative duties required to run a law office.
Licensed to practice in Washington, she maintains her law practice at Cooney Law Offices, P.S. Her routine combines litigation preparation, client consultations and the administrative work that keeps a local firm functioning. She continues to serve clients through the firm in Washington state.
She currently practices law at Cooney Law Offices, P.S., serving clients in matters handled by the firm in Washington.
