About Tad
Tad Roumayah earned a B.A. in political science from Oakland University before completing his J.D. at Wayne State University Law School in 2010. He moved quickly from law school into practice, setting a foundation that combines courtroom work and bar leadership.
After graduating, Roumayah opened Roumayah Law, PLLC in 2010. A year later he joined Sommers Schwartz, P.C. as a shareholder. Those early years put him in frequent motion between solo practice and a structured firm environment. He has handled matters in both settings and in courtrooms across the region.
Roumayah is admitted to practice in Michigan and in several federal forums. His admissions include the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He appears regularly in state and federal proceedings on behalf of clients.
He has taken on roles in multiple professional organizations. He served as president of the Chaldean American Bar Association and remains active in that group. He is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association, the Michigan Association for Justice, and the National Employment Lawyers Association. Within the State Bar of Michigan, he serves on the council for the Labor and Employment Law Section.
Roumayah’s practice is centered on litigation. He represents clients in employment disputes, including wage-and-hour matters, discrimination and retaliation claims, and contract disputes arising from employment relationships. He also handles related civil litigation and represents clients before administrative bodies when required. His courtroom experience spans trial work and appellate filings in the Sixth Circuit.
Colleagues describe him as someone who balances solo-practice initiative with the procedural demands of firm litigation. He moves between drafting pleadings, arguing motions, and preparing cases for trial. That range of tasks has defined his day-to-day work since the start of his career.
He is a shareholder at Sommers Schwartz, P.C., and he maintains ties to Roumayah Law, PLLC. He currently practices employment litigation and related civil matters.
