T. E. Cauthorn has spent a career at the intersection of public service, the bench and private practice. Admitted to practice in Georgia and before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Eleventh Circuit, Cauthorn built a profile that moves between courtroom work and dispute resolution.
Cauthorn’s public service began in the Georgia Legislature, where he served as a member of the House of Representatives. That legislative experience preceded a series of judicial appointments. He served on the bench in the Cobb Judicial Circuit, sat on Georgia’s Superior Courts and later presided in the State Court of Cobb County. These roles placed him in the middle of civil and criminal dockets, trial calendars and the routine decisions that shape local court practice.
After years on the bench, Cauthorn transitioned back to private practice. He founded Cauthorn Nohr & Owen, bringing judicial perspective to the firm’s handling of litigation and dispute resolution. At the firm he drew on courtroom experience to advise clients, lead trials and manage settlement talks. His path from legislator to judge to founder gives him a layered perspective on how cases move through Georgia’s legal system.
Cauthorn holds registration as an arbitrator and mediator through the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. That registration covers Arbitration, General Civil Mediation and Domestic Relations Mediation under Registration ID 4746-8270-6467-2256. He is also admitted to plead and practice in Georgia trial courts under Georgia Bar Number 117400. His admissions extend to federal appellate practice before the Eleventh Circuit and to the roster of attorneys permitted to appear before the U.S. Supreme Court.
