About Susan
Susan Andrews built a career at the intersection of law and dispute resolution. She entered Southwestern University School of Law in 1996 and earned her J.D. in 2000, studying international law during her time there. The combination of classroom study and early exposure to cross-border issues shaped her approach to resolving conflict.
After law school she established herself in Kentucky, where she is licensed to practice. Her early work included traditional litigation and counsel roles that frequently touched on international elements. Over time those matters steered her toward mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, where she began to concentrate her practice.
Andrews earned certification as a Qualified Mediator from the International Mediation Institute. That credential opened doors to international panels and cross-border cases. She handles disputes that involve parties in different legal systems, and she is familiar with the practical challenges that arise when laws and expectations diverge.
Her practice spans commercial and civil disputes, with an emphasis on private mediation and negotiated settlements rather than courtroom litigation. She draws on both legal analysis and process design to help parties find workable outcomes. Colleagues describe her as pragmatic in the room and structured in her preparation, preferring clear process to prolonged argument.
She also maintains memberships in professional organizations related to mediation and dispute resolution. Those connections keep her current on emerging practice techniques and procedural changes in the field. She has conducted mediations for domestic and cross-border matters and participates in panels that assess mediation standards.
Today she leads Andrews Dispute Resolution, where she combines her background in international law with certified mediation practice. Her work centers on helping businesses and individuals resolve disagreements through negotiated solutions. She now practices at Andrews Dispute Resolution, where she focuses on international and cross-border mediation and dispute resolution.
