About Suraj
Suraj Vyas earned a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2017 after completing a B.S. in Water Resources Management and Policy at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2014. His academic path combined technical training and law. That combination has carried through much of his career.
Vyas began working in legal and technical roles early. He held positions as an instructor and court stenographer, and he served as a project manager and manager for consulting firms. In 2015 he worked as an intern at the Howard County District Court. In 2017 he moved into an in-house counsel role at Rising Sun Engineering & Consulting, LLC, a position that followed years of project management within the same firm. He launched The Law Offices of Suraj A. Vyas, LLC in 2018.
Since starting his own firm, Vyas has handled a mix of private and public-interest matters. He has done pro bono work for Disability Rights Maryland and for the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service. He also taught as a guest professor for Pro-Care Project Administrators and Management Advisors, reflecting a continued interest in training and project administration alongside practice.
His credentials include certification as a Maryland Notary Public and a construction law credential from WPL Publishing Co. Inc. Those qualifications align with his work for clients that intersect construction, engineering and regulatory compliance. He has also appeared before administrative bodies and in state courts, drawing on experience that spans litigation, contract disputes and administrative matters.
Vyas is a member of multiple bar and professional organizations. He joined the American Bar Association and local Baltimore bar associations in 2014, and later became affiliated with the Maryland State Bar and the Maryland Association for Justice. He holds membership in the District of Columbia Bar, the Howard County Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Association and the American Association for Justice, among others.
He maintains a private practice at The Law Offices of Suraj A. Vyas, LLC, where he handles civil litigation, construction law matters, administrative proceedings and pro bono disability-rights work.
