About Stuart
Stuart Carpey earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1979. He pursued legal studies at Villanova University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1987. Those years set the foundation for a long career tied to Pennsylvania courts and trial work.
Carpey is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He maintains active memberships in a number of professional associations, including the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Montgomery Bar Association. He is also listed with plaintiff-oriented organizations such as the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.
Over the years Carpey has joined several national groups that reflect his involvement in trial litigation. He has been a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum since 2005 and is listed in the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 beginning in 2014. He also holds membership in the American Association for Justice and the National Trial Lawyers organization. Those affiliations suggest sustained engagement in courtroom practice and professional networks that support plaintiff-side litigation.
Outside of bar and trial organizations, Carpey participates in civic and charitable efforts tied to public safety and veterans’ causes. He is a supporter, donor and legal advisor for Sidewalks Are For Everyone (SAFE). He has also supported Teens Against Distracted Driving (TADD) and the Wounded Warrior Project since 2011. He holds membership in America’s Leading Lawyers as well.
Carpey practices from Carpey Law, where he handles matters that reach both trial courts and appellate judges. His career reflects steady participation in professional associations and community causes alongside courtroom work. He brings experience practicing in state courts and before the Third Circuit and has maintained longstanding memberships in trial-focused organizations and forums that recognize substantial verdicts and settlements.
Clients and colleagues describe him as an attorney who remains involved in local bar activity while supporting advocacy groups and safety initiatives. He continues to work out of Carpey Law and concentrates his practice on litigation that involves trials and appeals in Pennsylvania and federal appellate proceedings.
